Described by those who knew her as having an “old soul,” Jaquilla lived with her great-grandmother Mattie, her mother Eureka, and her younger brother in a small pink house. On the night of her disappearance, Jaquilla vanished from the bed she was sleeping in. She had been seen throughout the night but by 3am she’s gone. As the search for Jaquilla unfolded, it was overshadowed by the tragic events of 9/11, but efforts continued behind the scenes.
